FAQ

My child has never been in band before. Can we still join?

Yes! Our program is designed to help beginning and intermediate students discover and develop their God-given gifts to play an instrument.

How can we get an instrument?

Our directors at WLA Bands recommend you meet with them before buying an instrument to make sure it is a good fit for your child. When you are ready to buy, check out our page on tips for buying an instrument.

My child is not in 5th grade yet. Can we start an instrument?

WLA School Bands starts students on instrument instruction at 5th grade for a number of reasons pertaining to a child's physical, mental, and social development. If your child is already fired up to learn a musical instrument, we recommend starting piano lessons through your local teacher.
